JOB DETAILS:
SOIL COMPACTOR OPERATOR
Job Purpose
To operate soil-compaction equipment to achieve required ground density and stability for roads, foundations and other development works.
Key Duties
- Inspect compactor before operation.
- Operate compaction machinery according to specifications.
- Compact soil, gravel and other suitable materials.
- Maintain required compaction patterns and coverage.
- Coordinate with graders, water-bowser operators and site supervisors.
- Monitor machine condition.
- Maintain machine-hour records.
- Report defects and safety concerns.
Qualifications & Experience
- Heavy-equipment operator qualification/licence.
- Experience operating soil compactors is preferred.
Work Hours: 8
Experience in Months: 12
Level of Education: bachelor degree
