JOB DETAILS:

SENIOR MECHANIC – TRACTOR & HEAVY MACHINERY

Job Purpose

To diagnose, repair, service and maintain tractors, earthmoving equipment and other heavy machinery to ensure reliable and safe operation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical faults in tractors and heavy equipment.
• Conduct major and minor mechanical repairs.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Service engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, brakes and drivetrains.
• Inspect machinery before and after repairs.
• Troubleshoot recurring mechanical faults.
• Supervise junior mechanics and workshop helpers.
• Guide technicians in correct repair procedures.
• Verify repairs before equipment is returned to operation.
• Maintain accurate repair records.
• Advise the Workshop Supervisor on spare-parts requirements.
• Ensure tools and equipment are used correctly.
• Observe workshop safety procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or recognised technical qualification in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering or related field.
• Significant practical experience working with tractors and heavy machinery.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.

Experience in Months: 12

Level of Education: bachelor degree
