PaveWay Africa Limited is seeking an experienced and strategic Sales Manager to lead the sales and business development activities for King-Long buses in Tanzania. The role focuses on driving market growth, expanding the customer base, and strengthening the company's position within the transportation and logistics industry through effective sales leadership and customer engagement.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing sales strategies, managing client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and leading a sales team to achieve revenue targets. This position requires strong industry knowledge, leadership capabilities, and an in-depth understanding of the Tanzanian transportation market.

Responsibilities or duties

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to increase King-Long bus sales and market share.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the transportation and logistics sector.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
  • Lead negotiations and manage the sales process from prospecting to contract closure.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify growth opportunities.
  • Develop business development plans aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Manage and support the sales team to achieve performance targets.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure efficient delivery of products and services.
  • Promote King-Long buses through presentations, demonstrations, exhibitions, and industry events.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and provide effective after-sales support.
  • Utilize CRM systems to manage customer relationships and sales activities.
  • Ensure achievement of sales targets and business growth objectives.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with transportation companies, fleet operators, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor industry trends, government policies, and market developments affecting the transportation sector.

Qualifications or requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of senior management experience within the transportation or logistics industry.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning and business development.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle, fleet, bus, or transportation-related sales operations.
  • Experience managing sales teams and driving organizational growth.
  • Proficiency in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in standard office productivity software.
  • Fluency in both English and Swahili.
  • In-depth knowledge of Tanzania’s transportation industry, market dynamics, and regulatory environment.
