Job Summary

The QA/QC Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) processes within renewable energy projects. The role ensures compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and project specifications. It is critical in maintaining high-quality construction, installation, and commissioning of renewable energy systems including solar, wind, and hydro power projects.

Key Responsibilities / Duties

Quality Assurance (QA)

  • Develop, implement, and maintain QA/QC plans aligned with project requirements and international standards (ISO 9001, IEC, IEEE, etc.).
  • Ensure all project activities comply with regulatory, contractual, and internal quality standards.
  • Conduct audits and inspections to assess the effectiveness of the quality management system.
  • Work with project teams to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Review project designs, technical specifications, and procedures for quality compliance.

Quality Control (QC)

  • Supervise and guide the QC team in performing inspections, tests, and measurements for renewable energy components and systems.
  • Ensure proper documentation of QC activities, including test reports, inspection reports, and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Approve or reject materials, equipment, and workmanship based on compliance with project standards.
  • Collaborate with contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors to resolve quality-related issues.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Integration

  • Ensure QA/QC processes align with HSE standards, especially for high-risk renewable energy activities.
  • Participate in incident investigations where quality-related factors may be involved.

Team Management & Reporting

  • Lead, mentor, and train QA/QC staff on best practices and project-specific requirements.
  • Prepare and present regular QA/QC performance reports to senior management and project stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with Project Management to ensure timely closure of quality issues.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience developing, implementing, and maintaining QA/QC plans for photovoltaic solar projects.
  • Experience in constructing PV plants with an aggregate peak capacity above 4 MW, including at least one plant over 4 MW.
  • Strong knowledge of renewable energy systems (solar PV, wind turbines, hydro) and associated quality standards.
  • Proven experience with ISO 9001, IEC, and other relevant quality certification frameworks.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in QA/QC software tools and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Exceptional organizational and documentation abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Effective leadership and team management capability.
