Infinity Developments Company Limited is seeking a highly organized, analytical and experienced Project Planner to support the planning, scheduling and monitoring of construction and development projects in Zanzibar.
The Project Planner will be responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules, monitoring progress against approved programmes, identifying delays and potential risks, and providing accurate project planning reports to management and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and update detailed project programmes and schedules in line with project objectives, contracts and approved timelines.
- Prepare project baseline schedules, work programmes, look-ahead programmes and recovery schedules where required.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, contractors and other project stakeholders to obtain accurate progress information.
- Monitor actual project progress against planned activities, milestones and critical dates.
- Identify delays, critical activities, programme risks and potential schedule impacts, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, schedule updates and project dashboards for management.
- Track project milestones, deliverables, resources and dependencies.
- Conduct schedule analysis and support the preparation of delay and extension-of-time assessments where required.
- Monitor contractor programmes and assess performance against approved schedules.
- Coordinate with procurement and project teams to ensure materials, equipment and resources are aligned with project requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of project progress, revisions, changes and approved programme updates.
- Assist Project Managers in developing recovery and mitigation programmes for delayed works.
- Participate in project progress meetings and provide planning and scheduling updates.
- Ensure effective communication of project timelines and key milestones to relevant stakeholders.
- Support management in project forecasting, planning and decision-making.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Architecture or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in project planning, project controls or construction scheduling.
- Proven experience in construction or real estate development projects.
- Strong knowledge of project scheduling, programme management and progress monitoring.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel is required.
- Experience preparing project reports, dashboards and progress updates.
- Understanding of construction methodologies, project dependencies and critical path analysis.
- Experience working with contractors, consultants, engineers and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict project deadlines.
- Willingness to travel to project sites within Zanzibar as required.
