Background
Yas Tanzania is seeking a highly organized and results-driven Project Manager – Data Transformation to lead and coordinate digital transformation initiatives across the organization. The role is responsible for establishing and maintaining Project Management Office (PMO) frameworks, managing project portfolios, driving agile delivery practices, and ensuring successful execution of digital transformation projects within approved timelines, budgets, and scope.
The successful candidate will work closely with business and technology stakeholders to oversee project planning, execution, monitoring, reporting, and governance. This position requires strong project management expertise, experience with digital transformation programs, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams in a fast-paced and technology-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain PMO frameworks, standards, methodologies, processes, and reporting structures.
- Manage and monitor digital project portfolios, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Track project timelines, budgets, risks, dependencies, and resource utilization.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within approved budgets.
- Develop detailed project plans using Microsoft Project Professional and other project management tools.
- Monitor project performance and track key performance indicators through Enterprise Project Management (EPM) systems.
- Identify project risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate project governance activities and maintain project documentation.
- Drive the adoption of agile methodologies across digital and technology teams.
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning sessions, reviews, retrospectives, and Kanban processes.
- Support implementation of SAFe and other agile frameworks where applicable.
- Lead project meetings, steering committee sessions, conference calls, and stakeholder engagements.
- Prepare and present project status reports to management and project sponsors.
- Coordinate internal and external communications related to project activities.
- Collaborate with business units, technology teams, and external partners to ensure successful project delivery.
- Monitor project deliverables and ensure compliance with organizational standards and objectives.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within project management and digital transformation functions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certification in PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum Master, SAFe Agilist, or ITIL Foundation.
- Minimum of two years of experience in project management or related commercial roles.
- At least one year of experience within the telecommunications industry.
- Experience managing digital transformation initiatives and technology-driven projects.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project and Enterprise Project Management (EPM) tools.
- Experience working with Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe methodologies.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies, digital platforms, and enterprise systems.
- Exposure to DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and modern product delivery models.
- Proficiency in Power BI, Jira, Confluence, and other project management tools.
- Azure Fundamentals or related cloud certifications will be an added advantage.
