1. Introduction
The National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of Tanzania is a registered religious institution authorized to carry out its religious activities in Tanzania. The Assembly announces one job vacancy for the position of Project Manager for the Construction of Institutional Buildings. The purpose of this position is to ensure that the implementation of the construction project is carried out with the required quality, on time, and in compliance with the budget, laws, and all relevant construction procedures. This project is being implemented in Kiziba Village, Kigoma Rural District, Kigoma Region.
2. Main Responsibilities
The Project Manager will be responsible for:Project management software
- Overseeing the implementation of the construction project in accordance with drawings, contract agreements, and work schedules.
- Managing and coordinating the work of contractors, craftsmen, and project consultants.
- Monitoring project progress and ensuring that the quality of work meets accepted standards, national construction laws, and the institution’s requirements.
- Ensuring that occupational health and safety standards are followed at the project site.
- Preparing and submitting project progress reports (technical and operational) to the institution’s leadership in a timely manner.
- Reporting emerging challenges and proposing solutions before they cause harm to the project.
3. Applicant Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering (Buildings), Architecture, Construction Project Management, or a related field.
- At least three (3) years of experience in managing institutional building construction projects.
- Prior experience in residential or institutional building construction projects will be given priority.
- Understanding of construction laws, urban planning regulations, and national construction standards.
- Knowledge of contract management and construction work schedules.
4. Skills and Personal Abilities
- Strong leadership skills, people management, and teamwork abilities.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Integrity, accountability, and good work ethics.
- Ability to work under pressure and solve challenges effectively.
5. Employment Terms
- This position is on a contract basis for a period to be specified by the institution.
- Salary and other benefits will be paid according to the institution’s procedures.
- Residents of Kigoma Region or nearby areas will be given priority.
- Must be willing to live in rural areas (where the construction is located).
- Must be in good health and ready to be present at the project site throughout.
