Job Purpose
The Processing Manager is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day processing and packaging operations at the TML facility. The primary goal is to ensure efficient production, high-quality output, and strict adherence to health, safety, and traceability standards.
Team Leadership: Leads a team of Processing Assistants and three Shift Supervisors, managing all personnel movements for smooth operations.
Collaboration: Works closely with the Operations Lead and Operations Manager to handle the flow of honey and wax in and out of the Kigoma facility.
Key Job Responsibilities
The manager’s duties cover production oversight, quality control, team leadership, and continuous improvement:
- Oversee all honey and wax processing activities on the factory floor, ensuring efficient workflows and minimal downtime to consistently meet throughput and quality targets.
- Oversee labelling and packaging to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure day-to-day compliance with food quality and organic requirements across the factory floor.
- Maintain data integrity across the traceability system, linking raw materials, batches, and finished products.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to Shift Supervisors, fostering a high-performance work culture.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the processing lines.
Requirements
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Agricultural Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Candidates from other disciplines with relevant experience in food processing or manufacturing are also encouraged to apply.
Skills and Experience Requirements
Leadership: Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and leading effective teams.
Technical/Analytical: Highly analytical and detail-oriented, with an awareness for optimising workflows.
Communication: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Language: Strong spoken and written English and Kiswahili.
Tech Savvy: Excellent computer skills with proficiency in MS Office.
Industry Knowledge: Awareness of safety and traceability in the food industry.
Preferred Experience: Experience or exposure to food processing/manufacturing is highly advantageous.
