Job Purpose:

To safely and efficiently operate equipment within the mineral processing plant to achieve production targets while adhering to quality, safety, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate processing plant equipment from the control room and via field inspections.
• Monitor process variables (flow rates, densities, reagent levels, tank levels) and make adjustments to optimize recovery and grade.
• Perform routine equipment inspections, basic troubleshooting, and minor maintenance.
• Collect and prepare process samples for the laboratory.
• Complete accurate shift logs, production reports, and incident reports.
• Adhere strictly to Safe Work Procedures, Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO), and isolation protocols.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Work a rotating shift schedule (e.g., 14 days on / 14 days off, 12-hour shifts).

Qualifications & Experience:

• Grade 12 certificate or equivalent. A relevant trade certificate or diploma in Mineral Processing is a strong advantage.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an operator in a hard rock mineral processing plant (gold, copper, etc.).
• Familiarity with SCADA control systems and basic computer skills.
• Physically fit to work in an industrial environment (climbing stairs, lifting, working in all weather conditions).
• Strong focus on safety and teamwork.
