JOB DETAILS:

We are seeking a dedicated and friendly optician to join our team at Epha Hospital. This full-time position focuses on assisting customers in selecting the most suitable eye table for their needs, ensuring a personalized and high-quality experience.

Job Description

As an optician, you will work closely with customers to recommend, fit, and adjust eyewear, including glasses and contact lenses. Your role will involve using specialized equipment and providing excellent customer service to meet individual style and prescription requirements.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient prescriptions from optometrists and ophthalmologists.
• Take customer information and measurements of the ocular area.
• Recommend frames or contact lenses that suit the customer’s style, face, and specifications.
• Adjust and fit frames according to prescriptions and customer specifications, ensuring comfort and suitability.
• Prepare work orders for optical technicians to manufacture lenses.
• Use specialized equipment, such as calipers, lensometers, and lens gauges.
• Maintain inventory of frames and contact lenses to ensure product variety and customer satisfaction.
• Repair broken frames.
• Educate customers on how to properly wear and maintain glasses and contact lenses.
• Perform administrative duties, such as managing prescriptions, customer records, and insurance.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or diploma in opticianry.
• On-the-job training and experience in clinical work.
• Ability to operate specialized equipment.
• Excellent customer service and sales skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to recommend specialized eyewear, including options for sports, occupational use, tints, and anti-reflective coatings.
