Besa Health Center is seeking to fill the following positions:

MEDICAL DOCTOR

Number of Positions: 2
Duty Station: Besa Health Center, Karagwe-Kagera

Job Purpose

The Medical Doctor will provide comprehensive medical services to patients at Besa Health Center, including clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, emergency care, disease prevention, and follow-up. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centred care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct patient consultations, medical examinations, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Provide appropriate care for outpatient and inpatient cases within the facility's scope of services.
• Attend to medical emergencies and provide appropriate initial management.
• Request, interpret, and act upon relevant laboratory and diagnostic investigations.
• Prescribe medicines and treatments in accordance with approved clinical guidelines.
• Monitor patients' progress and provide appropriate follow-up.
• Maintain accurate and confidential medical records.
• Participate in ward rounds, clinical meetings, and other healthcare activities.
• Provide health education and counselling to patients and their families.
• Refer patients requiring specialized investigations or treatment to appropriate facilities.
• Promote infection prevention, patient safety, and quality improvement practices.
• Work effectively with nurses, laboratory personnel, pharmacy staff, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in community health promotion and disease prevention activities where required.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Health Center management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Holder of a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• Must be registered and hold a valid practicing licence from the relevant professional regulatory authority in Tanzania.
• Relevant clinical experience will be an added advantage.
• Good clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
