Job Summary:
The Mahindra Tractor Operator will be responsible for operating Mahindra tractors and agricultural implements for cultivation, land preparation, transportation, and general estate operations. The role will ensure safe and productive tractor operation while maintaining the equipment in good working condition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate Mahindra tractors for cultivation, ploughing, harrowing, transportation, and other assigned agricultural activities.
- Attach and operate agricultural implements safely and according to operational requirements.
- Conduct daily pre-start inspections, including fluid levels, tyres, brakes, hydraulics, and general equipment condition.
- Monitor tractor performance and report mechanical or operational problems promptly.
- Carry out basic operator-level maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and routine adjustments.
- Follow assigned field patterns, work schedules, and operating instructions.
- Maintain basic records of operating hours, fuel consumption, completed activities, and equipment condition.
- Comply with farm safety procedures and safe machinery operating practices.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Certificate or recognized vocational/agricultural machinery operator training is preferred.
- Valid relevant tractor/operator licence or certification where applicable.
- Minimum 2–3 years of practical experience operating agricultural tractors, preferably in commercial farming.
- Practical knowledge of common agricultural implements and field operations.
- Basic understanding of tractor mechanical, hydraulic, and transmission systems.
- Ability to conduct routine inspections and identify basic equipment faults.
- Strong safety awareness, discipline, and equipment-care practices.
- Previous experience operating Mahindra tractors will be an added advantage.
