Mkulazi Holding Company Limited (MHCL) is inviting qualified and experienced Tanzanians to apply for the position of Machinist. The successful candidate will report to the Machining and Fabrication Supervisor and will be responsible for operating machine tools to produce precision mechanical parts and components required for maintenance, repair, and production support within the factory.

The role requires practical skills in machining operations, equipment setup, tool selection, and interpretation of technical drawings. The selected candidate will ensure accurate production of components using lathe, milling, drilling, and shaping machines while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency in the workshop.

Responsibilities or duties

• Operating lathe, milling, drilling, and shaping machines to produce precision mechanical parts
• Setting up machines and selecting appropriate cutting tools for machining operations
• Adjusting machine settings to meet required specifications
• Preparing tools required for machining activities
• Reporting any lost or damaged tools to the supervisor
• Performing routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication
• Preparing spare parts lists to support smooth machine operations
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
• Maintaining records of work completed, materials used, and machine performance
• Ensuring proper housekeeping and organization of the workshop area
• Conducting basic machining calculations for production accuracy
• Performing any other lawful duties assigned by supervisors

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

• Form IV certificate
• NTA Level III in Welding and Fabrication or equivalent qualification
• Ability to operate machining tools such as lathe, milling, drilling, and shaping machines
• Basic knowledge of engineering drawings and machining processes
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to work in a workshop environment under supervision

Experience needed

Minimum of two (2) years working experience in a machine shop environment
