Background

Mkulazi Holding Company Limited (MHCL) is inviting qualified and experienced Tanzanians to apply for the position of Laboratory Analyst. The successful candidates will report to the Laboratory Technician and will be responsible for supporting laboratory testing, sampling, analysis, and quality control activities within the production, water treatment, and effluent management processes.

The role requires strong laboratory skills in sample collection, chemical analysis, and accurate documentation of test results to ensure compliance with regulatory, environmental, and production quality standards. The selected candidates will support continuous monitoring of water quality, effluent discharge, and production process parameters.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Collecting and preparing samples for laboratory analysis from production, water systems, and effluent treatment facilities
  • Monitoring water quality for tap water, process water, and waste discharge to ensure compliance with standards
  • Maintaining accurate records of laboratory tests, analysis results, and daily activities
  • Cleaning, operating, and maintaining laboratory equipment and instruments according to procedures
  • Supporting chemical dosing processes for water treatment and effluent management
  • Adhering to laboratory safety procedures, chemical handling, and waste disposal guidelines
  • Reporting test results to the Chemist for further analysis and corrective actions
  • Participating in environmental monitoring programs, including effluent and waste discharge quality checks
  • Supporting quality control programs and continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory
  • Performing any other related duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Diploma in Laboratory Science and Technology or equivalent from a recognized institution
  • Minimum of two (2) years working experience in laboratory operations
  • Experience in sugar industry or related processing industries will be an added advantage
  • Good understanding of laboratory procedures, chemical analysis, and quality control systems
  • Ability to operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and record-keeping skills
  • Knowledge of safety procedures in laboratory environments
