Plan International is seeking a motivated and efficient Knowledge, Learning and Research Specialist to join our team and enhance our organizational impact. Knowledge, Learning, and Research Specialists will be tasked with the development and implementation of a comprehensive learning agenda aimed at enhancing knowledge management initiatives and facilitating research and evidence-generation practices. The objective of this role is to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of outcomes achieved through program implementation. This position will require collaboration with colleagues from Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning, as well as Policy, Strategy, and Quality sectors, to bolster knowledge management and the utilization of evidence and research to inform decision making and foster innovation. The position demands exceptional organizational skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities, along with the capability to multitask within a fast-paced environment.
Dimensions of the Role
- Lead the knowledge management practices and support PIT and its partners evidence and knowledge generation activities.
- Ensure lessons learned are widely disseminated through internal and external platforms and used for course correct actions for current and successor programmes.
- Support the culture of knowledge sharing and organizational learning and the uptake of organizational standards for knowledge sharing.
- Capture and dissemination of operational knowledge and evidence that respond to advocacy and influencing agenda of PIT.
- Support the program team and partners to identify, synthesize, document and disseminate lessons learned from program implementation.
- Identify appropriate “learning agenda” topics and design case studies, rapid assessments and other appropriate methods of study and documentation to articulate ongoing learning
- Build the capacity of project team members, and partners on the documentation of evidence and lessons.
- Promote project successes and lessons learned utilizing a variety of communication channels.
- Provide periodic updates on and “snapshots” of implementation learning through development of a series of “rapid-cycle learning briefs,” highlighting what is working.
- Take a leading role in providing technical writing and editorial support to major project deliverables during routine reporting.
- Contribute technical knowledge and skill, as required, to planning, implementation, monitoring and documentation of program success focusing on access, utilization, and quality.
