The Barrick North Mara Team is seeking to recruit a Foreman Instrumentation-Paste Plant to join and grow our team.

Responsibilities

• Effective leadership and robust maintenance systems for the Paste plant Section
• Development of team and succession plan
• Effective Improvement Plan for the Instrumentation systems
• Risk Management System
• Ensure Human and equipment safety
• Development of Standard Operating Procedures for Paste Plant instrumentation Section
• Selection of most optimum & suitable mechanical systems / Technology
• Accountable to effectively supervise, manage and control the Instrumentation Section in the Paste Pant operation.
• Ensure all safe work practices are always observed including incident/accident reporting and ensuring total adherence to all Safety, Occupational Health and Environmental Procedures, as well as other policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Ensure effective management of the section, maintenance and continuous improvement of the infrastructure to allow smooth operation of the Mine.
• Ensure effective management of the section and continuous improvement to support the achievement of production targets on the mine site.
• Ensure preparation and execution of maintenance plans and schedules as per the required dates and times.
• Ensure that the Section performs the pre-determined performance measures in safety, availability, reliability and cost.
• Carry out tactical plan projects as designated within the maintenance department tactical plans
• Review and assist in quarterly budgets and KPI’s.
• Ensure critical controls have been implemented and confirmed on any task involving Fatal Risk.
• Ensure all NMGM safe work practices and procedures are followed.
• Ensure Zero involvement in an incident or accident also ensure all accident or incident are reported immediately.
• Ensure completion of at least 4 x SLI each Month.

Qualification requirements

• Industrial Instrumentation Trade Test.
• Diploma in Electronics and Electrical Engineering.
• Diploma in Instrumentation or Automation Industrial will be advantage.

Experience and competencies needed.

• Minimum of 5 years experience in Instrumentation/ Process Control.
• Demonstrated competencies in the use of Citect SCADA
• Demonstrated knowledge in the operation of underground Mining
• Excellent Knowledge in industrial electrical wiring and drawing interpretation
• Experience in the use and safe handling of radioactive nuclides
• Able to read / Interpret instrumentation loop drawing & P & ID’s
• A Valid Driver’s License
• Excellent time management & organizational skills
• High level of interpersonal skills
• Exposure to PRONTO
