Job Summary:
The Civil Engineer will oversee all civil works for the 20MW solar installation project, ensuring that foundations, structures, and site works are designed, constructed, and delivered according to technical, quality, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and supervise all civil engineering activities, reviewing drawings, technical specifications, and BOQs for accuracy and compliance.
- Supervise excavation, concrete pouring, and structural foundation works, and verify supplied concrete quality.
- Ensure civil works are executed on schedule while meeting quality standards.
- Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to coordinate multidisciplinary works.
- Manage subcontractors, ensuring adherence to project specifications and safety standards.
- Conduct inspections and verify that construction materials meet design and quality criteria.
- Prepare progress reports, test results, and documentation for project handover.
- Support HSE initiatives by enforcing safe work practices during civil construction activities.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in large-scale infrastructure or solar energy projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and structural design software.
- Excellent project supervision, coordination, and reporting skills.
- Preference will be given to Tanzanian candidates.
