Chuo Kishiriki cha Elimu Dar es Salaam (DUCE) is seeking to fill one position for an Assistant Lecturer in Physics.

Responsibilities or duties

  • To carry out lectures, conduct tutorials, seminars and practicals for undergraduate programmes;
  • To prepare and present case studies;
  • To conduct and publish/disseminate research results;
  • To participate/contribute in curriculum development;
  • To recognize students having learning difficulties, intervene and provide assistance and support;
  • To guide students in various academic issues;
  • To participate in consultancy and community services under supervision; and
  • To attend workshops, conferences and symposia.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

  • Holder of Master of Science in Physics or Master of Science in Material Science and Engineering or Master of Science in Computational Physics or Master of Science in Materials Physics and either a Bachelor Degree of Science with Education (Physics) or Bachelor of Science in Physics or Bachelor of Science in Physics and Chemistry or Bachelor of Education in Science (Physics) from a recognized academic institution.
  • The candidate should possess a GPA of at least 4.0 points at the Master’s Level and a minimum GPA of 3.8 points (out of 5 points) at the Bachelor’s Level; and a minimum of B+ in Physics courses from recognized institutions.
