ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT

Job Summary

The Assistant Accountant will support the Finance Department in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The role involves assisting with day-to-day accounting operations, reconciliations, and financial documentation to support the overall financial health of the organization.

Job Description

  • Assist in maintaining general ledger accounts and financial records.
  • Prepare and process journal entries, invoices, payments, and receipts.
  • Perform bank and account reconciliations regularly.
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
  • Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records.
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) will be an added advantage.
  • 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience (preferably in a manufacturing or FMCG environment).
  • Experience working with accounting software and TALLY systems is preferred.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
