This role is critical in ensuring the care and comfort of patients before, during, and after medical and surgical procedures. Position Overview
The Anesthesia Technician will work closely with patients to ensure their safety and comfort during medical procedures. This role involves administering anesthesia, monitoring patient vital signs, and providing post-procedure care under high-pressure conditions. The ideal candidate will be meticulous, focused, and capable of making quick decisions in a highly stressful environment.
Responsibilities
- Meeting with patients before medical procedures to discuss their medical history and lifestyle.
- Assessing patients’ conditions through analysis of medical history.
- Explaining the surgical process to patients.
- Administering anesthesia and monitoring patient vital signs during medical and surgical procedures, making appropriate adjustments to ensure patient comfort.
- Monitoring patient vital signs and pain management after surgical and medical procedures to ensure ongoing comfort.
- Maintaining patient records related to their procedures, including the type and amounts of medications administered.
Requirements
- A Diploma in Nursing with a 2-4 year residency in anesthesiology.
- A valid state license and malpractice insurance.
- Strong working knowledge of mathematics, science, and medical practices.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to make quick decisions in a highly stressful environment.
