Position Summary

Coretax Africa is seeking a detail-oriented and dynamic Accountant. The role involves performing internal accounting work as well as providing professional, on-site accounting services to clients. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong technical expertise, excellent client-facing skills, and the ability to deliver accurate and timely financial information.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and prepare compliant financial statements.
• Conduct tax computations, filings, and advisory services per Tanzanian tax laws.
• Provide on-site accounting and advisory support to clients across industries.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processes, and reconciliations.
• Assist in preparing management reports, budgets, and financial forecasts.
• Liaise with auditors, regulators, and key stakeholders.
• Support clients with internal controls, financial best practices, and process improvements.
• Ensure full compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA(T) or ACCA is an added advantage.

Experience

• Minimum of 2–3 years of proven accounting experience.

Key Skills

• Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and accounting principles.
• Good knowledge of IFRS, Tanzanian tax laws, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Tally, Sage, etc.) and MS Excel.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Willingness to travel to client sites when needed.
