Job Purpose

To lead solution assessment, architecture design, and technical evaluation for new technology initiatives and implementations, while serving as the technical authority throughout the solution lifecycle, from requirements analysis and solution design through vendor evaluation, implementation, and transition into operations, Ensure proposed and implemented solutions align with business objectives, enterprise architecture standards, integration requirements, security policies, regulatory obligations, and the Bank’s long-term technology strategy, Conduct detailed technical due diligence on proposed solutions and vendors to support sustainable, secure, scalable, and maintainable technology investments.

Principle Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and technical assessment of new business systems and technology initiatives.
• Analyse business, functional, and non-functional requirements and translate them into end-to-end solution architecture designs covering applications, integrations, infrastructure, security, and data.
• Produce and maintain solution architecture artefacts, technical specifications, design documentation, system interactions, process flows, data flows, and integration requirements.
• Ensure proposed solutions comply with approved enterprise architecture principles, standards, patterns, and technology strategy.
• Participate in RFP, RFQ, procurement, vendor evaluation, proof of concept, and solution demonstration activities.
• Define technical evaluation criteria and assess vendor proposals, product roadmaps, architecture, scalability, security, support models, and implementation methodologies.
• Identify solution gaps and recommend design approaches that support scalability, maintainability, extensibility, and business growth.
• Guide development teams on architecture practices and design patterns, and review solution architecture, customization requirements, development frameworks, code-quality approaches, and technical deliverables.
• Define and review integration approaches, API capabilities, middleware requirements, enterprise integration patterns, and secure data exchange between new and existing platforms.
• Embed security-by-design principles, identify architectural risks, recommend mitigation measures, and collaborate with cybersecurity teams during assessment and implementation.
• Participate in project governance and architecture review forums, monitor adherence to approved architecture, and manage architecture-related risks, issues, and decisions.
• Support integration testing, user acceptance testing, deployment planning, architecture validation, operational readiness, and handover operations and support teams.
• Work closely with business stakeholders, project teams, vendors, developers, infrastructure teams, cybersecurity teams, and enterprise architects throughout the solution lifecycle.

Qualifications Required

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years experience in software development, systems analysis, solution design, or enterprise applications.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in architecture, solution architecture, or senior technical leadership roles.
• Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, or a related field is an added advantage.
• PMP, PRINCE2, Certified ScrumMaster, or an Agile certification is an added advantage.
• Preferred certifications include TOGAF, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional, and ITIL Foundation.
• Proven experience in large-scale system implementation projects, with a strong background in application development and/or systems integration.
• Experience evaluating enterprise solutions and technology vendors, including participation in procurement, RFP, and vendor-selection processes.
• Experience working across cross-functional business and technology teams, with the ability to communicate complex architecture matters clearly to business and technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, systems-thinking, problem-solving, technical decision-making, technical leadership, facilitation, documentation, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to evaluate competing solution options and provide objective, evidence-based recommendations.
• Ability to manage architecture risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions across complex implementations.
