SUMAIT is currently hiring an experienced Senior Electrician who will be responsible for a wide range of tasks related to the setup and maintenance of electrical infrastructures. These will include: Installation, testing and maintenance of electrical appliances according to safety standards. Managing and supervising storage of working tools, measuring instruments and equipment in safe and clean environment. Maintain job cards for electrical works/projects; Design and install Electrical systems, Electrical appliances and streetlights. Carryout preventive maintenance for generators, transformers and other electrical appliances.

QUALIFICATIONS

 Holder of Diploma of Electrical engineering from a recognized institution or equivalent.

 Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience preferably in Higher Learning Institutions or similar institutions.

 Knowledge and hands-on experience of installation, testing, maintenance of Motors, Switchgears, Batteries, Transformers, Cables etc.

 Knowledge of testing instruments.

 Experience in trouble shooting of Electrical installations and equipment.

 Working experience with High voltage equipment.

 Knowledge and experience in modern safety procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities.

 Perform daily electrical works including installation and fixing broken units in the systems as applicable;

 Participate in repair and maintenance of facilities;

 Identify and reports on areas that needs rehabilitation in the system including the quantity of material required for repair work;

 Identify the likely defects that might cause damage in electric systems

 Safeguard working tools/ equipment under his/her custody.

 Perform any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Estate Officer.

 Should be able to lead a team and develop junior electricians
