Job Summary

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with established nursing standards, physician orders, and facility policies. The RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care, serves as a patient advocate, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments on admission and throughout the care period.
  • Develop, update, and execute individualized nursing care plans.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapy as prescribed, monitoring for reactions and side effects.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, symptoms, and changes in patient condition.
  • Operate and monitor medical equipment (e.g., ventilators, infusion pumps, cardiac monitors).
  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and allied health staff on treatment plans.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and self-care.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA, JCAHO).
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and nursing assistants.
  • Respond to emergencies, including code blue and rapid response situations.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Diploma, Associate's, or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).

Licensure: Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in [State/Country].

Certifications: BLS required; ACLS, PALS, or specialty certification preferred.

Experience: [1–3] years of clinical nursing experience preferred; new graduates considered for some units.

Skills: Strong clinical judgment, communication, empathy, critical thinking, and teamwork.
