JOB DETAILS:
The IT System Administrator will be responsible for the general maintenance of the company ecosystem. This will include end-to-end incident management from initial troubleshooting to root cause analysis to problem management. Implementation of security policies, patch management, and user access management as per the company policies. This role is responsible for designing and building modules and solutions based on the needs of business and IT.
Key Accountabilities and Decision Ownership
- Perform system management (payment gateway).
- Perform the systems incident, problem, and change process with internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform and maintain the system security.
- Business continuity management.
- Integration of 3rd parties to the system.
- API builder development, implementation, and support.
- Payment gateway project and product support.
Core Competencies, Knowledge, and Experience
- Operating systems: Unix, Linux (RHEL), and Windows.
- Relational Database Management Systems (Oracle, SQL Plus, MySQL).
- Web services and SSL/TLS communication.
- Excellent communication skills.
Must-Have Technical/Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or its equivalent.
- Strong technical and analytic skills.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
- Mobile money experience would be advantageous.
- Development and API knowledge would be advantageous.
Key Performance Indicators
- Availability and uptime of the M-Pesa payment gateway system applications.
- Proactive monitoring.
- User reviews and checklist.
- Business continuity management (testing and facilitating failover tests).
