Job overview

Niajiri Platform Ltd is seeking a Finance and Operations Officer to manage day-to-day financial management and operational systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring sound financial controls, donor compliance, and efficient administration as the organization scales its programs and partnerships.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate accounting records, bookkeeping, and financial documentation in line with organizational and donor requirements.
  • Prepare payment vouchers, invoices, journal entries, and process accounts payable and receivable.
  • Perform regular bank and petty cash reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including donor and grant financial reports.
  • Support budget development, monitoring, and variance analysis for organizational and program budgets.
  • Process payroll and ensure timely statutory remittances, including:
    • PAYE
    • NSSF
    • WCF
    • SDL
  • Ensure compliance with Tanzanian financial regulations, the NGO Act, and donor financial guidelines.
  • Manage procurement processes, vendor contracts, and asset registers.
  • Support office administration, including:
    • HR records
    • Contracts
    • Logistics
  • Prepare audit-ready documentation and liaise with external auditors during annual audits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Fully qualified CPA (T) or ACCA. The qualification must be completed, not in progress.
  • At least three (3) years of relevant finance and operations experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the NGO/nonprofit sector in Tanzania and/or East Africa.
  • Working knowledge of donor compliance and grant financial management.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, such as:
    • QuickBooks
    • Tally
    • Similar accounting systems
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • High standards of integrity.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growing organization.
