PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The primary purpose of the Security Systems Technician 2 is to install, maintain, and troubleshoot security systems around Mine site. This role is critical in ensuring the safety and security of properties by implementing effective security solutions tailored to the specific needs. Technicians are expected to
demonstrate technical expertise, customer service skills, and a commitment to staying current with industry standards and technologies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Diploma / Certificate in Telecommunication, Electronics, information technology, Security Systems, or a related field.
- Certificate in Security Systems Installation
- One Must possess Tanzania driving license and be able to drive Light Vehicle.
EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5 years of experience in security system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, preferably in mining environments.
- Hands-on experience with various security systems (CCTV, Electric Fence, access control, intrusion detection).
- Experience working with IP-based Systems and Network Configurations.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Electrical and Electronic Proficiency
- Diagnostics and Troubleshooting
- Performing routine Systems Maintenance
- Safety awareness
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills.
MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Installing security cameras (CCTV systems).
- Perform Regular Maintenance:
- Setting up alarm systems and sensors.
- Configuring access control systems.
- Installing video doorbells and intercom systems.
- Mounting and wiring control panels and keypads.
- Running and concealing wiring or structured cabling for systems.
- Configuring network connections for remote monitoring.
- Testing installed equipment to ensure functionality.
- Installing motion detectors and intrusion detection systems.
- Troubleshooting and repairing faulty systems or components.
- Maintaining and servicing installed security equipment.
- Responding to emergency calls for system malfunctions.
- Performing site surveys to identify potential security vulnerabilities.
- Electric Fence Installation and Repair
- Conducting site surveys to identify security needs and potential vulnerabilities.
- Adjust Camera angles, motion sensitivity and Alarm triggers to specifications.
- Conduct final inspections to ensure systems meet quality standards.
- Secure systems against unauthorized access or tampering.
- Provide on-site training to clients on system operation and troubleshooting.
- Respond to service calls to resolve issues promptly and professionally.
- Diagnose and repair malfunctions in security equipment or software.
- Replace or upgrade outdated components to maintain system integrity.
- Set up user access permissions for access control systems.
- Test newly installed equipment to confirm proper operation.
- Set up and program control panels, keypads, and access control systems.
- Installation of GPS tracking systems
- Attend callouts and standbys.
