Job Summary:
The Procurement Assistant provides crucial administrative and operational support to the procurement team, helping to ensure the smooth flow of the procurement process from requisition to purchase order.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administrative Support: Prepare and issue Request for Quotation (RFQ) documents, purchase orders, and other procurement documentation.
- Supplier Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for suppliers regarding order status, delivery times, and basic inquiries.
- Data Management: Maintain and update supplier databases, procurement files, and records.
- Reporting Assistance: Help in compiling data for procurement reports on spending, supplier performance, and order status.
- Coordination: Liaise between the procurement department and internal stakeholders (e.g., stores, accounts) to track orders and resolve minor issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Diploma or Associate’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in an administrative or assistant role, preferably in procurement.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
