Serengeti Breweries Limited (SBL) is a fully integrated beverage business in Diageo Africa (supply and demand for beer and spirits).
SBL flagship brand is Serengeti Premium Lager. Other brands in the portfolio include Serengeti Lite, Guinness, Pilsner and SIB. Our Supply Chain and Manufacturing team are problem-solvers, sourcing, producing, and delivering our much-loved brands to delight customers around the globe. About the role:
The Logistics Cost Analyst is responsible for analyzing various logistics costs, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution expenses. This involves identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings without compromising service quality.
Role Responsibilities:
- Performing of vendor accounts and payment reconciliations.
- Management of supplier’s Purchase Orders, this involves creation requests and tracking.
- Verifying 3PL service provider’s payment schedules.
- Ensuring rebates and vendor cost deductions (breakages cost recovery, fleet devices cost recovery, etc.) are done timely.
- Reviewing weekly freight costs and warehouse costs.
- Working collaboratively with other departments to optimize logistics operations while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
- Analyzing transportation, warehousing, and other distribution expenses by identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Assisting in the preparation and management of budgets related to logistics operations. This includes forecasting future costs based on historical data and market trends.
- Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics efficiency, such as delivery times, freight costs per unit, and inventory turnover rates.
- Preparing detailed monthly reports on logistics costs and performance metrics for senior management review, and providing insights for decision making.
- Evaluating the performance of third-party logistics providers to ensure they meet contractual obligations while delivering value for money.
- Ensuring that all logistics activities comply with relevant regulations and company policies.
Experience / skills required:
- A bachelor's degree in logistics, finance, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in Accounting/Finance preferably in a manufacturing company.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data and identify trends.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for preparing reports and presenting findings to stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including finance, operations, and procurement.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel and SAP
