The jobholder will be responsible for supporting the HR department in ensuring smooth and efficient business operations.  Support the department to administer important functions, such as Recruitment and Selection, Onboarding, Performance Management, Learning and Development, Culture & Values Management.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule, and facilitate new hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience. 
  • Handle administrative tasks for onboarding, new hire orientation, and exits, including entering data into HR information systems and auditing for accuracy and compliance.
  • Facilitate training to line managers on the performance management process and system while ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Coordinate quarterly performance reviews as per the company guidelines and ensure a smooth process through the HR information system.
  • Provide HR advisory service to employees and management in relation to absence, conduct, capability, grievance matters, organizational change, culture management and all other employee-relations matters.
  • Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory and organizational chart.
  • Assist in developing and executing personnel procedures and policies, providing guidance and interpretation for business operations. Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and organization, to improve employee experience.
  • Ensure legal compliance with applicable employment laws, and update policies and/or procedures as required.
  • Support in Health & Safety initiatives and implementation of Environmental Social Management Systems as per the stipulated guidelines from Global HR.
  • Ensure that data input in HRIS is up to date and accurate. Maintaining such data within the system and in files with high confidentiality.
  • Identify and monitor the organization’s culture to support the attainment of the company’s goals and promote employee satisfaction and a culture that ensures employees’ engagement is at a high level throughout the company.
  • Keep up to date with the latest HR trends and best practice.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field from a recognized university.
  • HR Certification – SHRM/CIPD is preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of demonstrable experience working in HR function, with in-depth understanding of Tanzania Labour Laws.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing strategies for managing performance, motivation, and change.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting, upholding, and engaging in an organization’s core cultural behaviours.
  • Excellent communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems. Proficiency in Google Suite tools is an added advantage.
  • Strong mindset for continuous improvement and able to demonstrate complete discretion and confidentiality.
  • Passion for social enterprise, development of people and environmental benefits.
