Job Summary:
The Assistant Stores Manager supports the Head Stores Manager in the day-to-day operations of the warehouse. They supervise staff, ensure procedures are followed, and step in to manage the facility in the manager's absence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Supervision: Supervise the daily activities of the warehouse team, including assigning tasks and ensuring productivity targets are met.
- Operational Support: Assist in receiving, storage, dispatch, and inventory control activities. Resolve operational issues as they arise.
- Team Support: Provide direct supervision and guidance to team leads and floor staff. Assist in training new employees.
- Reporting: Prepare daily/shift reports on activities, issues, and performance metrics for the Head Stores Manager.
- Procedure Enforcement: Ensure all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for safety, security, and quality are followed on the floor.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in a relevant field.
- 5+ years of experience in a warehouse environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.
- Proficiency with WMS and MS Office.
