Responsibilities or duties

  • Train farmers on irrigation and modern farming practices.
  • Prepare infrastructure budgets and estimates.
  • Develop seasonal calendars.
  • Supervise all production activities according to seasonal plans.
  • Ensure members follow best and modern farming practices.
  • Organize training on modern agriculture for all members.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual farm reports for leadership.
  • Oversee environmental conservation in the scheme.
  • Manage and supervise the use of farm tools.
  • Coordinate water distribution in the fields.
  • Plan and supervise repairs of damaged infrastructure.
  • Ensure cleanliness of all intake and drainage canals.
  • Ensure the sustainability of the irrigation scheme.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Board without violating cooperative rules.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

  • Tanzanian citizen.
  • Ability to unite staff and members.
  • Self-motivated, hardworking, and able to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills in Kiswahili and English.
  • Proficient in computer use.

Experience needed

At least two (2) years.

Good health certified by a government doctor.

Age 25–45 years.
