WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Represent the company in court cases, including at the High Court of Tanzania, and follow up on legal proceedings.
- Draft, review, and update contracts, agreements, and legal policies to align with Tanzanian laws.
- Provide legal advice to management and departments on compliance and risk mitigation.
- Liaise with regulators, law firms, and government agencies for legal and compliance matters.
- Maintain accurate legal records and manage case files.
- Monitor legal, regulatory, and policy changes affecting the company’s operations in Tanzania.
- Conduct legal and compliance training for staff to promote awareness and adherence.
- Support meeting preparations, agendas, documentation, and minutes for legal-related discussions.
- Assess potential legal risks and implement mitigation strategies.
WHAT YOU NEED
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B) from a recognized institution; a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice is an added advantage.
- Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania with a valid practicing certificate.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in corporate, banking, or financial services law.
- Strong knowledge of Tanzanian laws, particularly in finance, contracts, litigation, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- High integrity, confidentiality, and professional ethics.
- Strong communication skills in English and Kiswahili (written and spoken).
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
