Role Summary
We are seeking a motivated Junior Consultant with 3–4 years of relevant consulting, research, or development-sector experience to join the Horrizon Global solutions Ltd, Tanzania team, project delivery across design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and client engagement activities. This is an early-career professional role for someone who combines strong analytical ability with clear writing and good stakeholder engagement skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Soliciting for tenders, developing technical consulting material including proposals, tender documents and other related materials and reports.
- Support the design and delivery of consultancy and advisory tasks: data collection instruments, literature reviews, stakeholder mapping, and project plans.
- Perform quantitative and qualitative data analysis and contribute to interpretation of findings.
- Draft clear, well-structured deliverables: technical memos, reports, presentations and briefs for clients and donors.
- Assist in fieldwork logistics and carry out interviews, focus group discussions and stakeholder consultations as required.
- Produce and maintain project documentation, timelines, and status updates.
- Support capacity-building sessions and presentations to clients and partners.
- Maintain client relationships, liaise with government, NGOs and private-sector stakeholders at the operational level.
- Other tasks incidental thereto and in pursuit of corporate growth and excellent performance.
- Ensure compliance with quality, ethical and safeguarding standards.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (required) in Economics, Public Policy, Development Studies, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Environmental Science, Statistics or a closely related field.
- Postgraduate diploma or master’s degree is advantageous but not required.
- 3–4 years’ professional experience in consulting firms, development organisations, research institutions, government agencies, or related environments.
- Eligible to work in Tanzania.
Essential Skills & Technical Competencies
- Strong analytical skills with experience in both quantitative and qualitative methods.
- Proven ability to produce high-quality, client-ready written outputs (reports, briefs, PowerPoint presentations).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (advanced Excel skills and PowerPoint).
- Experience in one or more data analysis tools (Stata, SPSS, R, Python, or similar) and/or qualitative analysis software (NVivo, Atlas.ti) is desirable.
- Good project management skills: able to manage tasks, meet deadlines and prioritise under supervision.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken); Kiswahili proficiency strongly preferred.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills; experience coordinating with government, NGOs or private sector stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
