WHAT YOU WILL DO

Debt Collection Management

  • Develop, implement, and monitor effective debt collection strategies to maximize recoveries while maintaining customer relationships.
  • Manage all Call Centre operations (knowledge of having worked with cc systems before)
  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the collection team, ensuring compliance with legal, contractual, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Review delinquent accounts and assign appropriate follow-up actions.
  • Track, analyze, and report on collection performance metrics, implementing corrective measures where necessary.
  • Train and mentor collection officers to enhance negotiation skills, customer handling, and efficiency.
  • Manage workload using available resources (autodial use added advantage)

Telesales Management

  • Lead and manage the telesales team to achieve sales targets across the company’s product portfolio.
  • Monitor and improve telesales scripts, pitches, and calling strategies to maximize conversion rates.
  • Implement CRM and call management best practices to ensure timely follow-ups and effective customer engagement.
  • Develop cross-selling and upselling strategies for existing customers.

Team Leadership & Performance Management

  • Set clear performance targets for both departments and ensure consistent monitoring and feedback.
  • Provide coaching, training, and development plans to build high-performing teams.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture.

Operational & Strategic Management

  • Work closely with senior management to align collection and telesales strategies with company goals.
  • Identify process gaps, recommend improvements, and lead operational efficiency projects.
  • Prepare regular reports on team performance, recovery rates, sales conversions, and other KPIs for management review.

WHAT YOU NEED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s degree is an added advantage).
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in debt collection and telesales management, preferably in the financial services or microfinance sector.
  • Strong knowledge of debt recovery regulations and telesales best practices.
  • Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, MS Office Suite, and reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to build rapport with diverse teams and clients.
