The officer plays a key role in maintaining accurate credit records, facilitating regulatory reporting, and safeguarding the Bank’s credit portfolio in alignment with its development finance objectives.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To validate all collateral documents such as bonds and securities, stocks and shares, guarantees, mortgage documents etc.
- To ensure that clients are debited or billed all charges and interests on due dates as
specified in the Credit Instruction Memo or as customary.
- To follow up on the stipulated loan instalment or repayment provisions.
- To notify concerned departmental Officers promptly of any defaults or other irregularities.
- To prepare monthly reports on all credit facility limits that expire during the course of the following three months.
- To prepare monthly reports to the Credit Committee on incomplete or missing documentation for transactions already booked.
- To initiate Bank of Tanzania and other periodic reports.
- To initiate monthly reports to Credit Committee on all accounts graded less than ‘good’, including detailed month-end outstanding.
- To maintain an up to date collateral data in the system.
- Reconciliation of loan repayment accounts to ensure accuracy of all credit records and timely identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitoring of disbursed funds and ensure proper utilization in line with loan agreements.
- To carry out any other duties assigned by the supervisor from time to time
QUALIFICATION, SKILLS , EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES
- Holder of Bachelor Degree in one of the following fields; Agricultural Economics & Agribusiness, Agricultural extension, Economics, Business Administration, Banking, Accountancy, Banking and Finance, Economics, Commerce or equivalent qualification from recognized institutions.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Demonstrated expertise in resolving credit-related issues, including payment discrepancies, delinquency tracking, and account reconciliations.
- At least two years of experience in Credit Administration in a financial institution.
- Strong analytical capability to interpret complex financial data, identify patterns, and support strategic decision-making.
- Sound judgment in assessing creditworthiness, evaluating loan applications, and determining appropriate credit limits based on financial insights.
- Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet strict deadlines, and work efficiently under pressure.
- High attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in maintaining financial records, performing data entry, and conducting credit analysis.
