Coca-Cola Kwanza Limited (CCK) presents an exciting opportunity for the Country Lead: Commercial Finance to join the Finance team. The role will report to the Country Finance Director.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Value Chain Analysis and Management
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of existing and new product value chains; submit for final approval.
- Present quarterly value chain analyses to senior leadership, highlighting profitability by pack and brand.
- Implement approved action items and re-design commercial processes for continuous improvement.
- Review and present RFP financial reports to demonstrate various profitability scenarios.
- Conduct comparative analyses to inform business decision-making.
- Collaborate on specific product category value chains (e.g., Stills), ensuring correct concentrate pricing and alignment with Finance, Commercial, and Manufacturing leadership for sign-off.
- Coach senior leadership on applying commercial services financial processes.
Incidence Management
- Implement incidence management processes, including incident rate changes, concentrate price revisions, and value share proposals to ensure equitable value share between TCCC and Country Bottler.
- Build and maintain stakeholder relationships with TCCC, and the Monster Energy Company to foster alignment, transparency, and trust.
Commercial Financial Performance Review
- Review monthly income statements for accuracy and completeness.
- Analyze and comment on monthly business performance, reporting variances against financial statements, prior year, and budget including reviews of monthly rental contract cancellations and creations for accurate revenue reporting.
- Prepare business case scenarios for product categories to determine profitability before customer proposals.
- Review annual price increase proposals for accuracy and completeness, resolving any price queries between Bottlers.
- Present annual price increases to senior leadership, demonstrating the projected impact on profitability.
Cost of Sales and Channel Profitability
- Oversee the validity, accuracy, and completeness of Cost of Sales inputs into the relevant sales reporting platform, reviewing income statements by trade channel to determine profitability.
- Review inputs of Cost to Serve by channel to identify cost differences, ensuring channel profitability is incorporated into product value chains for decisions based on current financial reports.
- Approve methods to improve channel profitability reporting.
Inventory and Cost Management
- Where applicable, manage the Monster Energy Company (MEC) rebalancing process for timely and accurate execution.
- Manage The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC) stock reporting process to ensure accurate and timely inventory reporting and activity based costing.
Governance and Compliance
- Review and approve annual commercial financial budgets.
- Update Risk and Control Matrix (RACM) narratives for commercial finance processes to align with business context, maintain controls and ensuring quarterly self-assessments to identify areas of non-compliance.
- Attend quarterly stock counts within the region as a management control requirement.
- Provide required information for Corporate Audit Division (CAD) and internal/external auditors to assess internal controls compliance and develop action plans to close audit findings and mitigate risks.
- Review quarterly GL reconciliations for identified accounts as per RACM requirements.
Skills, Experience & Education
Education:
- Qualification: Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s degree BCom Honours degree in Accounting or Financial Management, CPA T/ACCA A, CIMA.
- Added advantage: Certified Accreditation, Masters Degree
Experience:
- 8-10 years of post-qualification experience in financial management and commercial finance preferably from Manufacturing industry
- 2-3 years of experience in a leadership role, managing financial processes and teams.
- Strong technical and financial skills with effective decision-making, innovation management, and interpersonal capabilities. They are dedicated to ethical conduct and customer focus, leveraging their expertise to drive financial performance and continuous improvement.
