WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Oversee and guide the credit analysis team to ensure accurate and timely appraisal of loan applications in line with KYC, company credit rules, and regulatory requirements.
- Review and approve complex credit applications before submission to the Credit Committee.
- Provide mentorship, training, and performance feedback to credit analysts to maintain high standards of credit assessment.
- Monitor workload distribution and ensure timely communication of application outcomes to clients.
- Actively participate in and contribute to Credit Committee discussions and decisions.
- Ensure effective implementation and communication of credit policies, rules, and procedural updates to the sales and credit teams.
- Analyze portfolio trends to identify risks, improve processes, and enhance approval efficiency.
- Ensure proper collection, processing, and secure filing of credit documentation.
- Liaise with other departments to ensure timely loan disbursement and exceptional client service.
- Prepare regular reports on team performance, application turnaround times, and portfolio quality for management.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by management.
WHAT YOU NEED
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking, Business Administration, or related field.
- CPA (T) or equivalent professional qualification is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in credit analysis, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
- Strong knowledge of credit risk assessment, lending principles, and regulatory compliance in Tanzania.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with credit management systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards.
