Position Summary

Barrick is seeking a results-driven Project Exploration Geologist to lead and manage exploration programs focused on gold discovery and resource growth. The successful candidate will oversee field exploration activities, manage drilling programs, interpret geological data, and contribute to the advancement of exploration projects from grassroots through resource definition.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and execute exploration programs including mapping, sampling, trenching, and drilling campaigns.
• Lead geological interpretation of surface and subsurface data to generate and refine exploration targets.
• Supervise drilling operations (RC and diamond drilling), core logging, and sampling procedures.
• Ensure QA/QC protocols are implemented and maintained for all sampling and assay data.
• Integrate geological, geochemical, and geophysical datasets into 3D geological models.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and updates for management and stakeholders.
• Manage exploration budgets, timelines, and contractor performance.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and community standards.
• Mentor junior geologists and field technicians.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Earth Sciences (Master’s preferred).
• 5–10+ years of mineral exploration experience, preferably in gold and/or copper systems.
• Strong knowledge of structural geology, alteration systems, and ore deposit models.
• Experience managing drilling programs and geological logging.
• Proficiency in geological modeling and GIS software (e.g., Leapfrog, Micromine, ArcGIS).
• Strong analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.
• Ability to work in remote and challenging environments.
