Position Description
The Role is expected to align with the Barrick DNA and drive change within the team and the business. On a practical note, it will ensure that activities in the HR department are effectively planned and undertaken safely and cost-effectively to achieve targets in accordance with Company Mining Safety Standards, Policies, and Procedures.

Responsibilities
- Ensure safe work practices, i.e., attending compulsory safety courses and meetings, use of required PPE, incident/accident reporting, and ensuring total adherence to all Safety, Occupational Health, and Environmental Policies, as well as other relevant policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Coordinate the GM’s quarterly meeting with the workforce
- Communications to the workforce (with Q&A) for all new policies/developments that are happening within a company.
- Conduct HR departmental meetings
- Provide a weekly report on CMA and labor court updates
- Managing the Company’s Industrial Relations
- Maintain and update the Expatriate Work Permit database
- Update and provide a recruitment tracker to HoDs weekly
- Monitoring the company’s structure implementation, role, and salary alignment
- Implementation of Barrick succession plan tools
- Provide weekly and monthly reports, updated and shared
- Conduct Safety Interaction and hazards, submission loaded on the share folder weekly
- Administer quality payroll processes monthly, reduce payroll queries from employees and the payroll office, and monitor overtime/above roster/advances/acting allowances and bank changes
- Managing the implementation of the Element system
- Manage the Training section and provide a monthly report
- Managing employees’ time and attendance.
- Provide monthly and quarterly compliance reports for non-citizen employment
- Coordinate the management of contractors’ compliance on Labor issues and non-citizen Employment
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or equivalent. A master’s degree in human resources management will be an added advantage.
- 10 years’ experience in the Mining/extraction industry or the processing, manufacturing, or building and construction industry
- 5 Years Supervisory / Leadership Experience
Skills / Knowledge Requirements:
- Ability to work and prioritize in a high-pressure environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as a team leader
- Strong knowledge of risk management and problem-solving techniques
- Knowledge of dealing with culturally diverse groups and skilled in utilizing appropriate means to communicate effectively
- Knowledge of mentoring employees from diverse backgrounds
- Computer literate in the Microsoft Package Applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Good Communication Skills, English & Swahili
- Demonstrates a high concern for health, safety, and the environment
