Job Purpose
The Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of infrastructure and technology-focused projects. This includes overseeing system installations, managing multi-disciplinary teams, coordinating with external stakeholders, and ensuring the successful deployment and operational monitoring of technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full lifecycle of project delivery — from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Develop project schedules, allocate resources, and oversee technical implementation activities.
- Manage procurement processes including tender preparation, vendor evaluation, and contract supervision.
- Coordinate internal teams across software, hardware, network, operations, and support functions.
- Track budgets, mitigate cost overruns, and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with stakeholders, including government entities, clients, and vendors.
- Monitor post-deployment operations and ensure systems are stable, functional, and aligned with project goals.
- Prepare progress reports, dashboards, and risk logs for executive management.
- Promote a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
Education
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Project Management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project management within technology, infrastructure, or public service sectors.
- Demonstrated success managing multi-stakeholder, cross-functional project teams. Experience overseeing system rollouts, hardware installations, or operational support functions.
Must Have
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Proficient in budgeting, risk assessment, and project scheduling.
- Understanding of system integration, network planning, or digital platforms.
- Familiarity with tools like MS Project, Jira, or Trello is an advantage.
- Ability to manage field operations and post-deployment support.
