Background
UWAWAKUDA LTD is a cooperative of small-scale farmers specializing in irrigated rice farming in Dakawa, Mvomero District, Morogoro Region. Registered in 2006 under registration number MGR 369, the cooperative aims to unite small-scale farmers to improve the lives of members, their families, and the nation through better rice production. The Board of UWAWAKUDA LTD invites applications from qualified Tanzanians for four (4) positions as detailed below.
The Meneja Mkuu is the chief executive responsible for overseeing all cooperative operations and reporting directly to the Board, in compliance with cooperative laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Securely maintain all funds, records, documents, titles, and assets of the cooperative.
- Handle all official communication on behalf of the cooperative.
- Receive and authorize payments on behalf of the cooperative.
- Prepare annual budgets and financial estimates.
- Advise the Board on financial, business, technical, and leadership matters.
- Sign all records on behalf of the cooperative, including those requiring stamps or seals.
- Advise the Board on recruitment, employment, utilization, and staff development.
- Oversee and coordinate all economic plans of the cooperative.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports.
- Maintain accurate membership registers and other records.
- Serve as secretary for Board and general meetings, recording and signing minutes.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the cooperative.
- Issue notices for all meetings as per cooperative rules.
- Prepare annual accounts and present them to the Board.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Board.
Requirements
- Proven leadership and ability to manage subordinates.
- Ability to unite staff and members.
- Self-motivated, hardworking, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills (written and spoken) in Kiswahili and English, with ability to persuade and develop projects to grow the cooperative’s economy.
- Proficient in computer use.
Qualifications
- At least a diploma or degree from a recognized university in Agriculture (General or Agronomy) and Irrigation.
- A master’s degree in these fields will be an added advantage.
Experience
- At least two (2) years of relevant experience.
Health
- Good health certified by a government doctor.
Age
