Job Summary:

The Librarian manages information resources and services to support the teaching, learning, and research needs of the academic community. They ensure the library is an accessible, modern, and vital hub of knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the acquisition, cataloging, classification, and circulation of library materials (print and digital).
  • Provide information literacy instruction and research support to students and faculty.
  • Oversee the library’s digital resources, databases, and online public access catalog (OPAC).
  • Develop and implement library policies and programs to promote reading and resource utilization.
  • Supervise library assistants and manage daily library operations.
  • Collaborate with faculty to develop subject-specific resource collections.
  • Stay current with emerging trends in library and information science.

Requirements:

Education:

Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) or equivalent from an accredited institution.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in an academic library.
  • Proficiency with integrated library systems (e.g., Koha, Sierra) and digital resource management.
  • Excellent customer service, research, and organizational skills.
