Background
Bugando Medical Centre is a tertiary referral, consultant, and teaching Hospital in the Lake and Western zones of the United Republic of Tanzania. It is located along the shores of Lake Victoria in the City of Mwanza. It has a referral centre for tertiary specialist care for eight regions, namely – Mwanza, Geita, Simiyu, Mara, Kagera, Shinyanga, Tabora and Kigoma. It serves a catchment’s population of over 14 million people. It has more than 1000 bed capacity with 2000 employees.
Responsibilities
- To attend in and out patients.
- To attend emergency medical duties.
- To attend outpatients.
- To carry out specialized investigations of admitted patients.
- To ensure that prescribed investigations are carried out.
- To conduct specialized operations of his specialized field of study.
- To conduct on the job training and participating to the junior staff.
- To carry out service and participating in major rounds.
- To supervise fully students and interns in clinical duties.
- To participate in morning clinical sessions, patient presentation and journal clubs.
- To participate in research activities.
- To conduct outreach programs.
- To perform any other related duties assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications
- Holder of Master of Medicine Degree (M.Med) in Radiology or equivalent qualifications who is registered with the Medical Council of Tanganyika.
- Must be a holder of a Doctor of Medicine Degree.
- Master of Science Superspeciality in Interventional Radiology is an added advantage.
