Position: Financial Officer (1 Position) Duty Station: Pemba, Zanzibar Reports to: General Manager Contract Type: Full time job
Role Purpose
The Financial Officer will be responsible for ensuring sound financial management, compliance, reporting, and internal controls to support Aquahub’s operational growth, donor-funded activities, and commercial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, cash flow, and expenditure tracking.
- Prepare financial reports in line with donor and organizational requirements.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procurement procedures, and audit standards.
- Support project budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Coordinate with auditors, finance partners, and management on financial reviews.
- Maintain accurate financial records and accounting systems
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is an added advantage
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in financial management, preferably within development projects or donor-funded programmes
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance
- High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail
