The Technical Assistant – Agribusiness will support the implementation of the Women and Youth Economic Empowerment in Fisheries project in Tanzania.
Responsibilities or duties
Management of Project Partners
- Support and strengthen linkages between District Officials, KT and other stakeholders.
- Support Resident Associates, ToTs and WYEEFIMA project participants in project activities and market access.
Project Implementation
- Conduct activities in accordance with the approved project plan.
- Assist in preparation and dissemination of training materials.
- Support coordination of training logistics.
- Build the capacity of ToTs and fish value chain actors in PHH techniques.
- Assist in linking traders to suppliers of PHH technologies and access to finance.
- Provide logistical support for distribution of PHH materials and technologies.
Project Monitoring and Evaluation
- Communicate with participants regarding training and follow-up activities.
- Coordinate with trainers and stakeholders.
- Write and submit monthly technical reports.
- Ensure timely reporting.
- Conduct regular field monitoring.
- Collect and enter participant data and feedback.
- Support establishment and management of Business Organizations.
- Manage accurate data capture and analysis for WYEEFIMA project activities.
- Prepare monthly regional progress reports.
Finance and Administration
- Comply with project and KT financial controls and operational guidelines.
- Support documentation and management of project documents.
Information and Communication
- Support preparation of best practices documentation, articles, press releases, lessons learnt and learning materials.
HR Management
- Supervise Resident Associates and Village Agents.
Fundraising
- Contribute to fundraising initiatives of KT Tanzania.
Competencies Required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to operate independently.
- Skills in writing, editing, formatting, research, negotiation and verbal communication.
- Demonstrated attention to detail.
- Knowledge and experience in value chain development and women and youth empowerment projects.
Educational Qualifications and Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Rural Development, Economics, Trade Facilitation or a related field.
- Additional training or experience in project coordination is an asset.
- At least 2 years of experience supporting agricultural or rural development projects.
- Experience in data collection, report writing and logistics coordination.
- Experience in conducting training, mobilization of small traders and group formation.
- Ability to communicate well in Kiswahili is an added advantage.
