Position purpose
The Supply Chain Compliance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all procurement, goods contracting, and logistics activities are conducted in full compliance with company governance standards and Tanzania regulatory requirements, including Tanzania Mining Commission (TMC) and local content obligations.
The role provides structured compliance oversight across the supply chain function to mitigate commercial, regulatory, and audit risks while maintaining governance integrity and transparency.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Conduct regular compliance reviews of procurement, goods contracts, and logistics activities.
- Verify that Purchase Orders exceeding USD 100,000 are supported by valid approved contracts.
- Monitor contract utilisation to ensure approved values and contract periods are not exceeded.
- Ensure contract variations or amendments requiring TMC approval are submitted on time.
- Control and monitor sole-source procurement activities in line with company and regulatory thresholds.
- Ensure procurement documentation complies with delegation of authority and governance standards.
- Monitor compliance with Tanzanian mining regulations and local content requirements.
- Track local supplier participation and regulatory reporting obligations.
- Provide oversight of logistics compliance, importation processes, and statutory requirements.
- Conduct periodic compliance audits and implement corrective action plans where gaps are identified.
- Prepare compliance reports for Supply Chain Management and senior leadership.
- Identify and mitigate governance, regulatory, and commercial risks.
- Provide guidance and training to supply chain personnel on procurement standards and compliance requirements.
- Promote ethical procurement practices and accountability across the supply chain function.
Qualification/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Commerce, Business Administration, Law, or related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in procurement, contracts, compliance, or supply chain governance within mining or heavy industry.
- Experience working with Tanzanian regulatory frameworks and local content requirements is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of procurement governance, contract management, and audit processes.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Pronto, or similar.
- Professional certification (CIPS, Compliance, Audit, or Risk Management) is an added advantage.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Must be Exceptional in analysing data.
