Role notes
The role ensures efficient and compliant administration of collateral documentation under Collateral Management Agreements structures. It also supports drawdown processing, collateral record maintenance, registration, safe custody, release, substitution, and revaluation in line with approved credit terms and internal policies.
Key duties include:
- Ensuring compliance with credit approval and Conditions Precedent relating to CMA facilities before drawdown requests.
- Verifying completeness, validity, and compliance of CMA documentation.
- Maintaining accuracy of stock reports, insurance, collateral documentation, and related requirements.
- Monitoring collateral quality through CMA stock reports and reconciling variances.
- Maintaining accurate collateral entries in core banking systems and collateral management tools.
- Supporting audits, regulatory reviews, and collateral verification processes.
- Coordinating engagement meetings with Collateral Managers.
- Monitoring collateral manager performance and recommending improvements.
- Reconciling CMA stock positions against borrower utilization and approvals.
- Escalating exceptions, discrepancies, variances, or early warning signals.
Knowledge and skills:
- Good understanding of collateral types, CMA structures, warehouse receipt processes, and stock financing.
- Understanding of collateral management, security perfection, and registration processes.
- Strong understanding of credit operations, credit approval documentation, and lending processes.
- Strong understanding of control frameworks, risk management principles, and audit requirements.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and core banking systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Banking, Agribusiness, Risk Management, Economics, Law, or related fields.
- At least 3 years’ experience, preferably in banking or financial services, with a focus on risk, compliance, credit operations, or collateral management.
- Proven experience using collateral management systems and supporting secured lending operations.
- Experience with CMA structures and warehouse receipt financing is an added advantage.
