Job Purpose
Responsible to plan, organize and lead a team to deliver cost effective and efficient IT security controls to protect and defense the bank’s network infrastructure against any internal and external threats (eg. unauthorized access, cyber-attacks, etc).
Principle Responsibilities
- Protects network infrastructure by defining access privileges, control structures, and resources.
- Manage and ensure optimal security configuration of all network security hardware and equipment (firewalls, routers, switches, load balancers, etc.) for the LAN, WAN, Data Centers, Core Network, and WLAN.
- Conduct research and make recommendations on network security products, services, protocols, and standards in support of continuous improvements. Configure enterprise-wide security in firewalls, routers, and switches.
- Manage critical and high-impact network incidents.
- Perform analysis of network infrastructure and contribute to design, integration, and enhancements focusing on security aspects.
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify risks and issues, and create plans to mitigate and resolve them.
- Act as technical liaison with vendors to resolve issues within prescribed SLAs.
- Collaborate with multiple communication and network vendors to design and improve the Bank’s network infrastructure.
- Prepare technical documentation for network security solutions and maintain related equipment and appliance inventories.
- Configure IP voice services including Cisco Communications Manager Express, Cisco Unified Communication Manager, and Cisco Utility Manager.
- Implement, maintain, and support IDS/IPS systems using security appliances such as Cisco Firepower, Palo Alto PAN-OS, FortiGate NGF, and other technologies.
- Design, deploy, and maintain IPSec & SSL VPNs for internal services and third-party connections.
- Ensure proper case handling and provide coaching and training as necessary.
- Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, strong conceptual and analytical abilities, and the capacity to work effectively as a team member.
- Stay highly informed on industry best practices relevant to the role.
- Facilitate the purchase and tracking of IT equipment, software, and licenses.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems Technology or a related field.
- Essential certifications:
- CompTIA Network+ Certification
- Cisco CCNP Certification
- Certified Security Professional (CSP)
- Other OEM Internetwork Expert Certifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Network and Infrastructure roles, preferably within a banking environment.
- Proven ability to manage technical interactions with vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of network security and compliance standards.
- Hands-on experience with multiple vendor equipment such as Cisco, Palo Alto, F5, Fortinet, Radware, etc.
- Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting routers, firewalls, and switches.
- Ability to analyze, test, and evaluate networks to ensure optimal performance and adequate resource allocation.
- Expertise in network security, including architecture and configuration of Cisco routers, firewalls, and a wide range of security products.
- Strong experience with Server Operating Systems (Windows & Linux).
- Familiarity with various firewall gateway products (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortigate, Juniper, etc.).
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix, etc.).
- Deep expertise in Layer 2 & Layer 3 VPNs.
