Job Purpose
As a Senior Network Specialist, you'll take ownership of our enterprise network infrastructure evolution, leading critical projects that enhance our connectivity capabilities.
You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement forward-thinking network solutions that support our business objectives while maintaining the highest standards of security, reliability, and performance.
Oversee and manage the enterprise Channels (LAN/WAN) infrastructure, as well as handling the administration and optimization of service providers connectivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate technical activities between internal teams, vendors, and key stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery
- Provide expert guidance as a subject matter expert for routing, switching, and wireless technologies
- Drive standardization and implementation of industry best practices across our regional network environment
- Contribute strategic insights during architecture discussions and network roadmap planning sessions
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues related to L2/L3 connectivity, wireless systems, and network segmentation
- Ensure optimal performance of our network infrastructure with a focus on high availability, security, and efficiency
- Develop comprehensive documentation including technical specifications and implementation plans.
- Design, deploy, configure, and maintain the banks LAN and WAN infrastructure to ensure optimal network performance, availability, and security.
- Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
- Evaluate and recommend network hardware, software, and services to optimize network infrastructure and support future growth.
- Develop and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, standard operating procedures, and configuration detail.
Skills, Knowledge & Competencies
- Knowledge of bank’s products and operations.
- Advanced knowledge of the Network Support and troubleshooting.
- In-depth knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies, protocols, and standards.
- Advanced knowledge of Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers & Lightweight Access Points.
- Advanced Knowledge of Network devices including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Advanced Knowledge telecommunications protocols and standards, voice and data infrastructure tools and services, QoS design and operation
- Advanced knowledge of Data Centre Network Technologies (DC Interconnect, Cisco Nexus, VPC, Cisco ACI, SAN, UCS, FI etc.)
- Deep understanding of Enterprise Network and Cybersecurity Technologies (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, QoS, route redistribution, loop prevention, etc.)
- Strong expertise in configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Committed to self-development and enthusiastic about acquiring new skills and embracing new technologies
- Team player that motivates and educates other team members.
Academic / Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Networking, Information Technology, Telecommunication, Systems Engineering or any Technology related field.
- Proven experience (5 years) as a Network Specialist, Network Engineer, or similar role.
- Must have valid CCNP Enterprise.
- Other necessary Professional certifications include CCNP Security, Checkpoint CCSA & CCSE certifications.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCIE, PMP, ITILv3) will be an advantage.
Working Experience Required
- A minimum of 5 years in Managing Enterprise Networks
- In-depth experience of Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, NX-OS, SDWAN, ACI, WAN, VPN, Wired and Wireless LAN technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of and experience with major routing protocols; specifically, BGP and OSPF.
